1. Explore and analyze, in writing and reading, a variety of genres and rhetorical situations.

Originally when I introduced myself in this class I thought I would have trouble with my assignments because when it comes to analyzing text and exploring the depth of a story I find that very difficult. I was nervous my analysis would be totally different from others or judged by the way I thought and be outcasted by the class however I think Noelle helped me with my issues by showing me step by step what to do for each assignment and she never gave me negative feedback or discouragement which helped me improve as well and its what allowed me to write more. I started really using my voice and diving deep into the stories I was given in my assignments because I had more confidence in analyzing them.

In my first assignment, the language and literacy essay I had trouble with writing because I thought this was college and college doesn’t accept trash work like mine so I was kinda nervous about writing my paper originally was me trying to write about a very personal topic thinking it would bring more depth and detail to the reader despite how personal it was for me I wanted to have something that I connected to so that I wouldn’t have trouble speaking in person about it, however when it came to actually do it I felt sickened because I’m trying to talk about a very personal and emotional topic about my life which apparently didn’t fit the assignment, I started to actually think about what I’m passionate about and what brought me to loving literature and what came to mind was comics, I went on about how comic was the foundation for my reading endeavors however I also grew to love the art styles as well and the different techniques to show facial expressions and anatomy which is how i also got into art. Reading comics is what motivated me to try dabbling in being not just a writer but a comic artist because like me these people started with just loving comics and they had a dream and worked hard to achieve it so I’m looking to do the same.
